McDaniel sweeps Players of the Week

LANCASTER, Pa. – JS Duke (Fort Washington, Pa./Upper Dublin) and Brad Motley (Fallston, Md./Fallston), seniors on the McDaniel men's lacrosse team, has been named the Centennial Conference (CC) Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, for the week of Apr. 16-22.

Duke earned the offensive nod after leading the Green Terror (8-6, 4-3 CC) with two goals and three assists in the upset victory over No. 13 Gettysburg on Saturday, handing the Bullets their first conference loss.

Motley held strong on the other end to nab the defensive honor, making a career-high 17 saves in goal to key the team's first win over Gettysburg since 1997, snapping a 17-game losing streak in the series. Motley also picked up two ground balls.

For the season, Duke leads the team with 17 assists and 33 points. He is second on the team with 16 goals. Motley has an 8.86 goals-against average and .544 save percentage. He is 3-0, making the last three starts for McDaniel in goal.

The Green Terror, who needs a win in the season finale to secure its third CC playoff berth in four years, concludes the regular season at Swarthmore on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
