COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Ursinus won five of the first 10 events to key a 114-85 victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) men's swimming action on Saturday.

Brad Brooks (Newark, Del./Charter School of Wilmington) won three times – two in program-record time – to lead the Green Terror (0-4, 0-3 CC), who finished the meet with six victories in the 11 events.

Jacob Robinson, Philip Quick and Chris Hoops led the Bears (3-1, 1-1 CC) with two wins each. The trio joined David Yazbeck to win the 200 medley relay in a time of 1:41.45. Robinson won the 100 backstroke (55.35), Quick touched first in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.43) and Hoops was victorious in the 100 butterfly (55.21).

Brooks not only set new program-best marks but also established new records for Ursinus' pool in all three events. Brooks bettered his own program record in the 1000 freestyle with a conference-record time of 9:34.41, bettering the previous best mark by nearly two seconds – a time that was set as part of the 1,650 free at the 2006 NCAA Division III championship meet.

He also broke his own 500 free record en route to that mark before rebreaking the 500 freestyle record with a time of 4:42.40 later in the meet. Brooks rounded out his trio of record-setting wins with a time of 1:59.40 in the 200 IM. That time ranks second in program history, missing the record by 2.04 seconds.

Bryan Nuckles (Suffolk, Va./Nansemond-Suffolk Academy) added a fourth pool record, winning the 50 freestyle in a time of 21.61 seconds. He also won the 100 free with a time of 47.95 before anchoring the winning 200 free relay to the fifth-best time in program history. Jesse Mills (Catonsville, Md./Mt. St. Joseph), Stevie Hoyt (Glastonbury, Conn./Glastonbury) and Keegan Duesterhaus (Spartanburg, S.C./Spartanburg Day) joined Nuckles to combine for a time of 1:30.46.

Hoyt also finished second in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:49.71 to break into the all-time top 10 in that event. He was also second in the 100 backstroke (57.83).

Mills was third in the 100 butterfly (57.52) while Duesterhaus finished third in the 500 free (5:18.01).

The Green Terror returns to action at St. Mary's (Md.) on Saturday. Meet time is 1 p.m.
