Kron wins at first singles

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Washington (Md.) swept doubles play en route to an 8-1 win over McDaniel in the Centennial Conference (CC) men's tennis opener for both teams on Saturday.

Brian Kron (Upperco, Md./North Carroll) led the Green Terror (2-5, 0-1 CC) with a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles.

Ryan Holtschneider was one of five players for the Shoremen (2-2, 1-0 CC) to win twice on the day, including by a 6-0, 6-1 margin at fourth singles.

Holtschneider teamed with Dan Boate to win second doubles, 8-3.

The Green Terror returns to action at home against Haverford on Saturday. Match time is 12 p.m.
