WESTMINSTER, Md. – Messiah held on for a game-one win before taking advantage of two early error to complete the sweep of McDaniel in non-conference softball action on Wednesday.

The Falcons (24-16) captured game one 6-4 before winning the nightcap 8-0 in five innings.

Carly Deichman (Easton, Pa./Freedom) led the Green Terror (19-17-1) with two hits in the opener.

Amber Bingaman went 3-for-3, including an inside-the-park home run, in game two.

Tied at 2-all in game one, Erin Cressman and Haylee Anders roped back-to-back two-out doubles for a 3-2 edge in the fifth.

Back-to-back hit batters to lead off the sixth followed by back-to-back bunts and an Amanda Peterson single stretched the lead to 5-2.

Alicia Wagner (Bradenton, Fla./Lakewood Ranch) led off the home half of the inning with a single before Deichman followed with a hard-hit single to center.

After Madisyn Johnson (Glen Rock, Pa./Dallastown Area) came in as a pinch runner for Wagner, Haley Michael (Oldsmar, Fla./East Lake) singled to the gap to score both runners and cut the deficit to 5-4.

Madelyn Yannetti came on in relief in the circle and got a strikeout for the second out before issuing a walk. However, Angie Stephano threw out Michael trying to take third on the walk to get her pitchers out of trouble.

After cutting down one run at the plate with the bases loaded in the top of the seventh, Isabel Seise drew a walk to stretch the lead to two.

Cressman drew a four-pitch walk to lead off the game before moving to second on a bunt and scoring on a Carrie Fix single for a 1-0 lead.

A steal of third and Stephano sacrifice fly stretched the lead to 2-0.

Megan Coyle (Las Vegas, Nev./Bishop Gorman) led off the second with a single up the middle before a throwing error made it first and second.

After a walk loaded the bases with one out, Alejandra Mata (Miramar, Fla./Cooper City) placed a ball perfectly between first and second that allowed Coyle and Wagner to score to tie the game.

Coyle finished game one with two hits as well.

Game two started just like game one – a Cressman walk, sacrifice and Fix single up the middle for a 1-0 lead.

However a misplayed ball, Bingaman double over the third-base bag and McKenzie Tebbs single stretched the lead to 4-0.

Cressman once again drew a leadoff walk in the second before a sacrifice and fielding error put runners at first and second.

A walk to Stephano loaded the bases before a Seise RBI groundout stretched the lead to 5-0.

Bingaman then dropped a ball into right field that bounced into the corner and turned into an inside-the-park home run and grew the lead to 8-0.

Tayler Hishon (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas) had the Green Terror's lone hit of game two – a two-out single in the bottom of the first.

Joe Kolakowski allowed just one other baserunner – a walk in the second – and struck out five for the complete-game win.

The Green Terror returns to action at home against Haverford on Saturday. The first game of the doubleheader begins at 1 p.m.
