WESTMINSTER, Md. - Three free throws in the final 18.4 seconds of overtime, including two from Ali Moreland (Davidsonville, Md./South River) and one from Ashley Lyles (Laurel, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti), gave McDaniel a 76-74 victory over Washington (Md.) in Centennial Conference (CC) women's basketball action on Saturday.

Moreland finished with 19 points while Lyles recorded her first double-double of the season with 17 points and a career-high 17 rebounds to help the Green Terror (12-4, 11-2 CC) to its 12th consecutive victory. Katelyn Fischer (Reisterstown, Md./Seton Keough) led the way with a game- and career-high 22 points to go with five assists.

Sally O'Donnell led the Shorewomen (6-11, 4-8 CC) with 19 points while Jane O'Donnell added 17, including hitting five 3-pointers, and Meghan Tait chipped in 15.

For the third time in the last six games, McDaniel found itself in a double-digit second-half deficit, trailing 55-41 with 13:03 to play in regulation on a Sally O'Donnell triple - one of 10 hit by the visitors in the contest.

A Moreland jumper in the lane 22 seconds later sparked a 24-7 run that gave the Green Terror its first lead of the game with 1:04 to play.

Fischer contributed 12 of her points during the rally, including eight straight McDaniel points after the Moreland jumper. Sally Grace (Catonsville, Md./Mount de Sales Academy) added five of her eight points during the stretch that included converting a Fischer rebound and long outlet pass with 6:15 showing that closed the deficit to 57-55.

Three Erin Kile free throws helped stretch the lead back out to five before Grace connected on a 3-pointer and Fischer hit both a jumper with her foot on the 3-point line and driving layup for the lead.

With 23.8 seconds left, Julie Sherwood hit a floating layup and converted the ensuing free throw for a one-point Shorewoman lead.

With 6.2 seconds on the clock, Lyles was fouled and hit the front end of the two-shot foul to force overtime.

Fischer converted on the break to open overtime before Meghan Tait tied the game for the fifth time with 3:43 to play.

A Maggie King triple gave the visitors a three-point advantage nearly a minute later.

Two Moreland jumpers sandwiched around a Tait basket pulled the hosts back within one with 1:20 showing.

Another Moreland layup gave McDaniel the lead with 41.4 seconds on the clock.

O'Donnell hit in the lane with 30.3 seconds showing to give Washington its final lead, 74-73.

Two Moreland free throws with 18.4 seconds, a blocked shot on the defensive end and single Lyles free throw with 4.6 seconds on the clock finished the contest.

Knotted at 2-all with 16:46 remaining in the opening half, Kile hit a layup to spark an 8-2 burst that gave the Shorewomen a 10-4 lead just 1:55 later.

A Moreland foul-line jumper and Grace 3-pointr sliced the deficit to one but another 8-0 run stretched the lead to nine with 12:19 showing.

Two Fischer free throws narrowed the margin to 31-29 with 4:22 to play but Washington put together a 17-4 run that spanned both halves to take its first 14-point lead that included holding a 41-31 advantage at halftime.
