THE SKINNY STORY
McDaniel had four wrestlers place in the top four of their respective weight classes to finish fifth at the Gettysburg Invitational. The Green Terror recorded 44.5 points.

THE LEADERS
Ryker Eckenbarger (Finksburg, Md./Westminster) won the 141 bracket with a 4-0 day. His day started with a 2-minute, 21-second fall of Penn State-Mont Alto's Conner Herron before topping Sam Ewing (Gettysburg) with a 1-minute, 38-second fall in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, he recorded an 11-0 victory before receiving a medical forfeit for the title.
• At 157, Alexander LaVeck's (Marriottsville, Md./McDonough) finished second with a 2-1 day. After receiving a bye in the opening round, LaVeck recorded a 4-minute, 16-second fall and topped Ryan Butcavage (Castleton) with a pin in 2:16 to advance to the title bout. Gettysburg's Colin Devlin recorded a second-period pin in the title match.
Raymond Kable dropped a 5-2 decision in his opening bout at 157. After a medical forfeit, he recorded an 11-6 win and topped Logan Duers (Castleton) with a 5-minute, 57-second fall in the consolation semis. In the third-place match, he recorded an 11-4 win to place third.
• Gabe Dennis (Snow Hill, Md./Snow Hill) was also third at 184. After opening with a bye, he dropped a 4-0 decision before winning three times, including two by pin, in the consolation bracket. He had a 40-second pin of Mont Alto's Jena-Pierre Ardans and a 9-2 win in the consolation semis. He pinned Spencer Clements (Messiah) with 10 seconds left in the third-place match.

• Messiah won the seven-team invitational with 113.5 points, topping Gettysburg by 34 points.

Nick Malinowski (Baltimore, Md./Boys' Latin School of Maryland) had one win in the consolation bracket at 125. His win came by a 6-2 margin.
