Three earn all-region women’s soccer honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Three members of the McDaniel women's soccer team have been named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Mid-Atlantic team, released on Tuesday.

Kristen Upton (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South) was named to the first team while Katie Kirschenmann (Damascus, Md./Damascus) and Abby Keen (Salisbury, Md./Parkside) earned third-team honors.

Upton, a senior defender, makes her second-straight all-region first-team appearance after being named first-team All-Centennial Conference (CC) for the second straight season. Starting all 20 games, she keyed a backline that posted a 1.06 goals-against average and eight shutouts. She also contributed two goals and an assist.

Kirschenmann, a senior forward, makes her first all-region appearance. Starting all 19 of the 20 games in which she appeared, she led the team with eight goals and 18 points.

Keen, a senior midfielder, makes her first appearance on the all-region team. She started all 20 games and led the team with eight assists. She also added two goals and was second on the team with 12 points.

The Green Terror concluded the season with a record of 12-6-2 (6-3-1 CC) and advanced to the CC semifinals game and NCAA tournament.
