KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The United Soccer Coaches recently announced its 2017 Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award winners and the McDaniel women's soccer team was among those recognized.

The Green Terror earned the gold-level honor. The distinction was earned because the squad received just one yellow card in its 20 games, coming in below the 10-percent threshold. Just 26 teams at all levels of collegiate soccer earned either platinum- or gold-level recognition.

The Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award was created to recognize teams that exhibit fair play, sporting behavior, and adherence to the laws of the game.

McDaniel concluded the season with a record of 12-6-2 (6-3-1 CC) and advanced to the CC semifinals and NCAA tournament.
