LANCASTER, Pa. – Maddie Schwartz (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield), a sophomore on the McDaniel women's soccer team, and Katherine Carstensen (Pearl River, N.Y./Pearl River), a freshman, have been named the Centennial Conference (CC) Players of the Week for the week of Oct. 15-21.
Schwartz was tabbed Co-Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Green Terror (10-4, 6-3 CC) to a 2-0 week with three goals and two assists. She tallied a goal and an assist in a 4-0 win over Catholic on Tuesday before adding two goals and an assist in a crucial conference win at Muhlenberg on Saturday.
For the season, she is second on the team in goals (7) and points (17).
Carstensen was named Defensive Player of the Week after making nine saves in a 2-0 week in goal. She made two stops in a 4-0 shutout win over Catholic on Tuesday before notching seven saves in a 4-1 win over Muhlenberg on Saturday.
For the season, Carstensen has a 0.94 goals-against average and .822 save percentage.
McDaniel returns to action at home against Dickinson on Wednesday. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
