WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel debuted at ninth in the third release of the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic regional rankings.
The Green Terror (10-4-1, 6-3-1 CC) is one of four Centennial Conference (CC) teams ranked in the region, joining Johns Hopkins (1), Swarthmore (3) and Dickinson (8).
McDaniel enters this weekend's conference tournament as the No. 3 seed and will face Swarthmore at Johns Hopkins on Saturday with a chance to improve its positioning before Sunday night's selection.
McDaniel would earn the conference's automatic berth into the NCAA tournament with two wins this weekend but could also be in position for its fourth straight at-large selection.
Freshman Hannah Schepers (Port Deposit, Md./St. Mark's) leads the team and conference with 12 goals. She is third in the conference with 24 points. Sophomore Maddie Schwartz (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) has added eight goals and three assists for 19 points. Senior Lindsey Farrell (Towson, Md./Loch Raven) has four goals and four assists for 12 points. Senior Alyssa Johnston (West River, Md./Southern) has a team-high five assists.
Freshman Katherine Carstensen (Pearl River, N.Y./Pearl River) has a 1.02 goals-against average and .796 save percentage. She is 7-2-1 in 10 starts in goal.
