LEXINGTON, Ky. – Two members of the McDaniel volleyball team have been named All-Mid-Atlantic Region honorable mention by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), released on Thursday.
Sophomore Marlowe Embry (San Jose, Calif./J.H. Pitman) and senior Taylor Bauman (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) both earned their first honors.
Embry, an outside hitter, was a first-team All-Centennial Conference (CC) selection. Embry has led the attack all season with 311 kills and currently ranks second on the team with 347 digs. She is also second on the team with 38 aces and recorded 11 double-doubles in 29 matches this season.
Bauman, a libero, was an honorable mention all-conference nod. She leads the team with 474 digs this season. She is third on the team with 29 service aces. She reached the 20-dig mark in 10 matches this year and had 28 or more in four matches.
The Green Terror (21-8, 7-3 CC) advanced to the championship match of the CC tournament and returns to action against Penn State-Behrend in the quarterfinals of the ECAC tournament on Saturday at Cabrini. Match time is 8 p.m.
