Embry honored with Arthur Ashe Scholar Award

FAIRFAX, Va. – Sophomore Marlowe Embry (San Jose, Calif./J.H. Pitman), a member of the McDaniel volleyball team, has been honored by Diverse: Issues in Higher Education as part of its annual Arthur Ashe, Jr. Sports Scholars Award.

Embry was a second-team member of the volleyball list.

An outside hitter, she was a first-team All-Centennial Conference (CC) selection and all-region honoree. Embry led the attack with 346 kills and was second on the team with 385 digs. She was also second on the team with 39 aces and recorded 12 double-doubles in 32 matches this fall. A kinesiology major, she is a perennial Dean's List member, posting a 3.81 grade-point average through the fall semester.
